Yearly exodus for Easter starts today in Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.– The National Police will begin Operation Easter 2016 at 2:00pm Thursday, March 24, with the participation of 23,000 agent who’ll be scattered throughout the highways, beaches and lakes, to prevent accidents and provide safety for the people who head to the interior.

National Police chief Nelson Peguero said the authorities hope this year to meet the expectations of Dominicans and foreigners who live in the Dominican Republic.

He also said it is important for each of us to look deeply at the lives we live, the habits we have allowed to grow and the values we may have, at one time or another, allowed to slip away.
