Santo Domingo.- The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has blocked the entry of a second plane linked to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro into U.S. territory. This Falcon 200EX aircraft, registered as YV3360 and parked at Higüero International Airport, was previously halted from flying by Dominican authorities and is now stationed at La Isabela International Airport, Doctor Joaquín Balaguer.

OFAC enforces economic and trade sanctions to support U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives. The blocked Venezuelan aircraft also includes two Falcon 900EX models, with serial numbers MSN 196 and MSN 197, under the same Venezuelan sanctions.

On May 20, 2024, the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) prohibited the flight of this additional aircraft, grounding it until further clarity on its operational status is provided. OFAC is currently issuing a modified General License 20B related to Venezuela, which authorizes certain official activities involving the Venezuelan government.
