SDE Mayor’s Office, Dutch Embassy, and Supérate host sustainable fashion show

Santo Domingo.- The Mayor’s Office of Santo Domingo Este, in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Supérate program, is hosting the first-ever Sustainable Fashion Show at the Columbus Lighthouse Monument. The event will feature top Dominican designers focused on creating ethical and sustainable fashion, emphasizing the role of fashion in addressing the environmental impact of the textile industry, one of the world’s most polluting sectors.

The showcase aims to highlight how sustainability can be integrated into fashion through the reuse of materials, ethical production practices, and innovative designs.

The event will also include a panel discussion with the featured designers, discussing the current challenges in sustainable fashion. The collaboration between the Mayor’s Office, the Dutch Embassy, and Supérate underscores their shared commitment to promoting environmental sustainability and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the Dominican Republic.
