Bayahíbe official and son arrested as part of Operation Panthera 7
Santo Domingo.- Enriquillo Luis Brito, the municipal director of Bayahíbe, and his son, Enrique José Luis Brito, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in an international drug trafficking network. The arrests are part of Operation Panthera 7, which uncovered 9.8 tons of cocaine smuggled into the Dominican Republic through the Caucedo Multimodal Port.
The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) announced the arrests, linking them to the seizure of 120 packages of cocaine last week. This operation, the largest of its kind in the country, has involved 52 raids across various provinces and led to the arrest of 15 individuals, including key associates of the Brito family.
Authorities continue to investigate the network, emphasizing the significance of Operation Panthera 7 in combating organized crime and drug trafficking in the Dominican Republic.
