911 strengthens operations for Easter Holiday

Santo Domingo.- Colonel Randolfo Rijo Gómez, executive director of the 911 Emergency and Security Response System, announced the implementation of special measures to boost operational readiness during the Easter holiday. These include increased staffing at call and dispatch centers, enhanced video surveillance—especially on high-traffic days like Friday and Sunday—and strategic monitoring of overpasses and busy areas to ensure full coverage of critical zones.

Additionally, three drone units will support the Emergency Operations Center for aerial surveillance, mass event monitoring, and search and rescue missions. As part of the “Consciousness for Life: Holy Week 2025” initiative, 911 will also provide logistical support and communication tools to emergency responders and collaborate with the Directorate of Out-of-Hospital Emergency Services (DAEH) to enhance services in tourist areas.

Rijo emphasized the importance of civic responsibility, urging the public to use 911 only for real emergencies and to make way for emergency vehicles. He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to providing efficient, compassionate, and coordinated services during this period of increased mobility.
