Dominican Republic to host 20th ILO American Regional Meeting

Santo Domingo.- Luis Miguel De Camps García, Minister of Labor, announced that the Dominican Republic, as a Full Member of the Governing Body of the International Labor Organization (ILO), will host the 20th American Regional Meeting of the tripartite organization. The event will bring together labor ministers, business organizations, union leaders, and labor experts to address regional labor challenges and promote sustainable development and social justice.

The meeting’s agenda will be collaboratively defined by the Americas region constituents under the ILO’s leadership. De Camps emphasized the Dominican Republic’s commitment to fostering social dialogue, promoting international labor standards, and improving labor management through shared tools and resources.

This marks another milestone for the country, which has gained prominence within the ILO. In 2024, the Dominican Republic was elected as a Full Member of the ILO Governing Body for 2024-2027, highlighting its dedication to advancing labor issues on an international scale.
