Friusa traffic light in Verón-Punta Cana operational again after repairs

Verón.- Under the leadership of Colonel Miguel Ángel Álvarez, a technical team is currently undertaking the repair and refurbishment of the Friusa traffic light, which has been at risk of collapsing for the past two days.

Following directives from Ramón Ramírez ‘Manolito’, the district director of Verón-Punta Cana, a specialized team was assigned to address the structure, which sustained damage from a heavy vehicle impacting the traffic control system.

For the repair process, technicians from the Punta Cana-Macao Energy Consortium (CEPM) are collaborating with agents from the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (Digesett). The repair involves the dismantling and subsequent restoration of the iron towers to ensure their proper functioning.

Glad this is being done. The damage to the traffic light is a warning to the engineers of traffic lights and public leaders to construct solid safety bollards/barriers at the bases of the lights to protect them from destruction by the godawful Dominican driver culture.

Hope the lights at Coco Loco are next and soon.
