Dominican Customs exceeds revenue targets with significant growth in 2024

Santo Domingo.- The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) reported a 12.56% increase in revenue collection by the third week of December 2024, surpassing the same period in 2023. The DGA expects to exceed RD$250,000 million by year-end, a major achievement attributed to the institution’s efficiency and new initiatives. By mid-December, the DGA had collected RD$247,837.18 million, surpassing the previous record of RD$230,912.05 million set in 2022.

The DGA’s success also includes auditing 44 of 102 companies, leading to reassessments totaling over RD$1,400 million. Additionally, the DGA has enhanced operations at Las Americas International Airport to streamline the distribution of goods and express parcels. The launch of a new Trade Dashboard offers real-time data on customs operations and international trade, while the automation of user services has tripled, with 76 services now available on the institution’s platform.

In 2024, the DGA also upgraded its Data Center with advanced technology and increased operational capacity. Three new Eagle P60 X-ray scanners were installed at the Caucedo Multimodal Port to combat commercial fraud and drug trafficking, further strengthening the institution’s capabilities.
