Judge slaps therapy, restraining order on ex Antinarcotics chief

Santo Domingo.- Ex Antinarcotics chief Alejandro Iván Peña Castillo will have to attend therapy as part of a restraining order against him, awarded to his wife Thelcemary Georgina Mejía, who had acused him of beating her.

The also retired Navy Admiral was taken Monday morning before National District 5th Instruction Court judge Ileana Perez.

Prior to the hearing, Peña’s lawyer Daniel Izquierdo claimed that it was all a plot against him by senior military officers, because his client “somehow” affected their interests or refused to support them when he headed the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD).

The attorney added that it was a conflict resulting from a divorce, “from the uncontrolled interests of that situation.”
