Greater Santo Domingo and 18 other provinces are on yellow alert

Santo Domingo—The Emergency Operations Center (COE) increased to 19 provinces and the National District in yellow alert and maintained 8 in green alert due to the fact that we will have enough humidity and instability provided by the trough that affects our territory, so the downpours will continue in several provinces.

The provinces on yellow alert are El Seibo, San Pedro de Macorís, Hato Mayor, Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, Monte Plata, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Sánchez Ramírez, Monseñor Nouel, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, La Vega, Santiago, Puerto Plata, Santiago Rodríguez and Montecristi.

The provinces in green alert are La Altagracia, La Romana, Peravia, Azua, San Juan, Elias Piña, Dajabón, and Valverde.

In this regard, the COE recommends that people refrain from crossing rivers, streams, and creeks that present high volumes of water in the provinces under alert.
