Homicide rate drops to 9.93, according to National Police

Santo Domingo – The National Police reported that the accumulated homicide rate per 100,000 inhabitants for this 2024 is at 9.93 points due to the preventive and operative actions executed at the national level by members of the institution of order and military forces.

According to the police agency, the results of the forty-seventh weekly crime statistics report show that the homicide rate for the month of June is 8.23.

“Compared to the month of June 2023, a reduction of 3.53 points has been registered, which is equivalent to a percentage decrease of 30%,” the report said.

I agree I just checked our rate in Canada is 2.25 per 100,000. It would be interesting to see what percentage is a result of domestic violence, the result of street crime and so on. Here most murderers are related to victim or are friends of the victim.
