Foreign Minister Álvarez to attend UN session on Haiti crisis

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) announced that Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez will travel to New York City this Tuesday afternoon to participate in a United Nations Security Council session on the situation in Haiti, scheduled for July 3.

This quarterly meeting, mandated by Security Council resolution 2645, is set to monitor the ongoing situation in Haiti. A report will be presented to decide on the renewal of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), whose mandate expires on July 15.

During his visit, Minister Álvarez will attend a working lunch hosted by Canada’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Bob Rae, which will also be attended by Haiti’s Prime Minister, Garry Conille, and Foreign Minister, Dominique Dupuy. The Dominican foreign minister will be accompanied by Joan Cedano, the Dominican alternate ambassador to the UN.

All the crises started with the USA and they kept the struggle at all all-time high since they found out that under Haiti lies the biggest Irridium deposit ever. Sure, since the 2010 earthquake, an average of 10,000 NGO’s residing in the country have done nothing to help Haiti. The corrupt government came and went and those families are running the private sector like the owner of Soge Bank, Car dealers like Auto Meca, and others, grocery stores /mostly Arabic background from Lebanon/ are in charge. America is pissing around and creating conflict so they can put their hands on whatever they want. The DR is holding their hand as well and Abinader I hope he knows what he is doing… But Haiti is done. I’ve seen many African nations ruined by French ppl, Britons, and Americans but Haiti is just as devastated and there is no short-term solution on the horizon…
