Rains and sunshine: This is what the weather will be like in the Dominican Republic today

Santo Domingo—Today, weather conditions will be influenced by the incursion of an air mass with lower humidity content and Saharan dust particles. Therefore, the National Meteorological Office informed us that a mostly sunny, warm, and opaque sky with a grayish appearance would prevail.

However, Onamet forecasts some local, weak, and passing rains, moderate at times, as a result of the southeast wind’s drag, towards the localities of Greater Santo Domingo, Monte Plata, San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, and La Altagracia.

Temperatures will be hot, therefore, it is recommended to drink enough fluids, wear light clothes (preferably light colors), stay in ventilated areas and do not expose yourself directly to solar radiation especially in the period of the day of greater insolation (11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). Remember that children and the elderly are more prone to suffer the consequences of these high temperatures.

Tomorrow, Sunday, we will continue to be under the influence of an air mass with lower humidity content and the entrance of dust from the Sahara, so a mostly sunny and grayish sky will be observed in most of the Dominican Republic. However, due to the effects of diurnal warming plus the drag of the wind, some isolated showers are expected over the main mountain systems in the afternoon.
