DGM updates Entry Stamp for Passports

Santo Domingo.- The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) has announced that, starting Monday, the “ADMITTED” stamp previously used in passports to record the entry of citizens into the Dominican Republic will be replaced with an “ENTRY” stamp.

Beginning July 15, both nationals and foreigners will receive an “ENTRADA” stamp at immigration checkpoints nationwide. For foreigners, the duration of their stay in the Dominican Republic will be indicated in writing.

Resolution number DGM-02-2024 specifies that the writing must not obscure the date on the entry stamp.

Migration officials stated that this change aims to standardize the stamps used by inspectors, improve efficiency, and prevent confusion.

The DGM’s decision is in accordance with the Dominican Constitution, Law 285-04, its implementing regulations 631-11, and relevant international conventions and agreements. The change has been communicated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and authorized airlines operating in the country.
