Israeli Embassy donates water purification machines

Santo Domingo.- In a recent meeting aimed at enhancing diplomatic relations and development in Santo Domingo Este, Mayor Dío Astacio and Israeli Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Raslan Abu Rukun, announced a donation of two water purification machines for use in vulnerable areas of the municipality.

Mayor Astacio revealed that the machines, designed to convert wastewater into potable water, will be installed in the El Tamarindo and Los Tres Ojos sectors, which face challenges in accessing clean water services.

Ambassador Rukun confirmed that the machines are set to be delivered in August and expressed a willingness to collaborate on development, community improvement, and various twinning projects.

Mayor Astacio also proposed naming a street in the municipality after a notable Israeli figure, such as Golda Meir or David Ben Gurion, and welcomed Israeli volunteers to share expertise on environmental issues and water recycling.

Both parties deemed the meeting productive and expressed optimism about the future of cooperation between Santo Domingo Este and Israel.
