Military shuts down clandestine liquor operation in Navarrete

Navarrete, Santiago.- In a decisive blow against illicit alcohol production, the Dominican Republic Military has dismantled a clandestine laboratory producing counterfeit clerén, a local spirit. The operation, conducted in the municipality of Navarrete, resulted in the seizure of various equipment and raw materials used in the illegal brewing process.

Among the items confiscated were distillation tanks, sacks of sugar and corn, propane gas cylinders, and other tools essential for alcohol production. The military’s intervention underscores the ongoing efforts to eradicate illicit activities that pose a significant threat to public health and safety.

The production and distribution of counterfeit and adulterated alcoholic beverages present serious health risks. Such products often contain harmful substances that can cause severe illness or even death.

The Dominican Republic Military has reiterated its commitment to the nation, emphasizing the importance of coordinated intelligence and security efforts in maintaining peace and order. The institution has urged citizens to collaborate with authorities by reporting any suspicious activities.
