Government ensures security and grants protest permit in Punta Cana

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of the Interior and Police reaffirmed that Dominican territory remains under full government control, with security institutions having sufficient agents to ensure public safety. Minister Faride Raful announced that the ministry approved a “No Objection” permit for the Antigua Orden Dominicana movement to hold a peaceful demonstration in Hoyo de Friusa, Punta Cana, Higüey. She noted that the Friusa area is part of an ongoing immigration control plan, with multiple interventions conducted.
Following the 84th Citizen Security Plan meeting, chaired by President Luis Abinader, Raful emphasized that the current administration has consistently granted permits for public demonstrations while coordinating security measures. She reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining order and upholding citizens’ constitutional right to protest. The National Police assured that the demonstration would be monitored to ensure it remains peaceful.
Stay clear of the area on Sunday. It is fuel and air waiting for a spark.
Thank you, Help me tell this to my friends. What is it exactly going on?
A Dominican nationalist organization, Antigua Orden is planning a demonstration against irregular immigration at Hoyo de Friusa a barrio settled by Haitians, many who work the resorts and construction projects of the Eastern Tourist Zone. There is much resentment of Haitians, legal and illegal, who have settled into the RD.
what goes around comes around.
Dominican nationalists will have a peaceful protest by entering “Hoyo de Friusa” which is controlled by haitians and apparently the Dominican authorities are afraid to enter. The protesters have been threatened with violence and the nationalists say they are peaceful but will fight back if attacked.
Bavarodigital.net has photos of the country’s National 991 Emergency System placing security cameras at the Friusa crossroad. There were no photos of cameras being placed in the Hoyo west of the intersection. So, it asks the question… were cameras placed in the Hoyo? Was the 911 crew unwilling to go into the Hoyo? Was the media photographer reluctant to enter the Hoyo?
