INDEX strengthens ties with the Dominican diaspora

New York.- The Institute of Dominicans Abroad (INDEX) has launched a successful new initiative titled “A Coffee with the Community” (El Cafecito con la Comunidad), aimed at fostering direct, personal dialogue with Dominicans living abroad. The program has already connected INDEX with over 800 associations and community leaders in key cities across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe.

Vice Minister Celinés Toribio, who introduced the initiative, emphasized its participatory nature, which helps shape policies and strategic plans based on real needs and proposals from the diaspora. Since her appointment in February, Toribio has led initiatives that have reached more than 30,000 Dominicans through sports, culture, community, and education.

INDEX has also formed strategic partnerships to expand academic opportunities abroad, including agreements with the University of the Isthmus in Panama and the Center for Financial Studies (CEF) in Madrid.
