Neit Nivar and José Alejandro Cerda are the winners of the Ambassador’s Cup 2024
Casa de Campo.- The twenty-fourth edition of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic’s emblematic golf tournament took place at the renowned “Diente de Perro” golf course in Casa de Campo, La Romana.
A total of 112 players competed in pairs using the scramble format.
Neit Nivar and José Alejandro Cerda emerged as the winners of the Charles T. Manatt Memorial Ambassador’s Cup 2024 with a score of 67 strokes. The event, organized by the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR), was held on Saturday, June 8, at the world-class “Diente de Perro” course.
The tournament featured 112 golfers who competed in pairs, with prizes awarded for the best scores in categories A, B, and C. The event kicked off at 8:30 a.m. with the national anthem and welcome remarks from Edwin De los Santos, president of AMCHAMDR, who emphasized the significance of the Ambassador’s Cup and its importance to the American Chamber of Commerce.
Juan Velázquez, vice president and administrator of Costasur/Casa de Campo, then officially opened the event, encouraging participants to strive for excellence and foster a spirit of healthy competition. Janiris de Peña, director of JDP Caribbean Golf, explained the game rules and details, followed by Edwin De los Santos’s ceremonial tee-off, marking the tournament’s official start.
Throughout the Ambassador’s Cup, players enjoyed a day of integration and friendly competition. By 3:30 p.m., golfers had completed the 18-hole course and were welcomed at the Driving Range in Casa de Campo for lunch and the awards ceremony.

The awards ceremony took place at the Driving Range of the Diente de Perro course in Casa de Campo, accompanied by lunch attended by players, council members, and guests.

Charles Taylor Manatt served as the U.S. ambassador to the Dominican Republic under President Bill Clinton from 1999 to 2001. Ambassador Manatt envisioned the Ambassador’s Cup golf tournament as a platform for successful businesspeople to contribute to the institution, work for the common good, and enjoy themselves in the process.
