Humanity scarred by war and violence, catholic church warns

Santo Domingo.- During the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of the Americas, Archbishop Carlos Tomás Morel reflected on the deep wounds affecting humanity, pointing to violence, wars, hatred, and personal tragedies such as domestic violence and traffic accidents. He noted that many people today carry emotional and spiritual burdens, along with the challenges of daily life.

Despite this reality, Morel emphasized that God is not indifferent to human suffering, but remains close to those experiencing pain and hardship. He described Jesus as a divine healer who can restore what is broken, offering not only comfort but deep, lasting healing that reaches the heart.

The archbishop concluded with a message of hope, urging the faithful to strengthen their faith during difficult times. He stressed that, even in the midst of suffering, spiritual renewal and inner healing are possible, reinforcing a message of resilience and trust in God.
