US lawmakers, Dominican President discuss human rights issues
Santo Domingo.– After spending two days in Cuba, U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other Democrat legislators met Friday with President Danilo Medina to talk about migrants’ human rights among other issues.
Pelosi’s delegation –conformed by US lawmakers Nydia Velázquez, Rosa De Lauro, Anna Eshoo, Jim McGovern, Steve Israel, David Cicilline and Wyndee Parker– was accompanied by U.S. Ambassador James W. Brewster, Jr. and U.S. Embassy official Alex Henegar.
Accompanying Medina were Presidency chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo and Foreign minister Andrés Navarro.
