Agency: keep your number, switch phone service in just 48 hours

Santo Domingo.- TheDominican Telecomm Institute (Indotel) announced Thursday that it´s in a processto cut the time to transfer a phone number and switch service providers to just48 hours for cell phones and five days to change companies if fixed numbers.

Indotel ResolutionNo. 015-15 benefits users who had to wait as long as days to switch providersand keep their mobile number.

Moreover customerswon´t have to pay fees or outstanding debts to providers if they decide tochange mobile or fixed phone service.
