Country’s respect for copyrights and patents attracts investment

Barcelona.- Industry and Commerce minister Temístocles Montás on Friday said the Dominican Republic respects copyrights and patents as part its attractive business climate for foreign investment.

In meetings with Catalan business leaders, Montás stressed the efforts by Dominican authorities to “zealously acknowledge and respect trademarks and patents.”

Montás leads a delegation of numerous executives from the national free zones, who seek to do business with Spain, including contact the Barcelona-based Tous family, reputed merchants of quality jewelry and accessories.

In that regard National Free Zone Council director Luisa Fernández called Tous an example of innovation and quality designs in jewelry and accessories. “It’s a family with a renowned history, with a global imprint in the business of its kind.”
