Gallup-Hoy survey: Mejía stays at 48%, Medina climbs to 43%
Santo Domingo. – Opposition PRD party presidential candidate Hipólito Mejía has 47.9% of the preferences and Danilo Medina, of the ruling PLD, 42.6%, says a Gallup survey published Monday by newspaper Hoy.
The pollster Gallup Dominican Republic conducted the field work between November 11 and 14, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8%.
The survey conducted “face to face” interviews with a group people selected by a stratified and multi-stage proportional sampling, and found that Mejia’s rejection rate is 36.5%, to Medina’s 28.8%.
Gallup said the PRD’s candidate remains on top but Medina rose 9.1 points, compared with the last Gallup-Hoy survey conducted at the end August, when Mejía figured with 47.9% of the votes to Medina’s 33.4%.
