Dominican murdered 3 women gets 75 years in prison

NEW YORK.- Dominican Francisco Acevedo, 43, found guilty of murdering three women in November, was sentenced Tuesday in the White Plains County Superior Court, to 75 years in prison.

In a statement, the DA Janet DiFiore said Acevedo voluntarily submitted to DNA tests, which led to his being convicted of the murders of the Hispanic Maria Ramos in 1989 and the Americans Kimberly Hodges in 1991 and Tawanda Moore in 1996.

It said the Dominican who previously resided in Mont Vernon, but fled after committing the murders and moved around the different counties around New York City, was on the run for decades, and found after a drunken driving arrest.

Acevedo, who didn’t show any emotion during the reading of the sentence, said only that he’s innocent of the charges, after the judge imposed the prison term.
