Last major poll before May 20 presidential election, Medina 51%, Mejia 46%

Santo Domingo.- The last major survey conducted before the May 20 presidential election found that Dominican Republic’s ruling party candidate Danilo Medina would win with 51% of the votes, over opposition rival Hipolito Mejia’s 46%.

The journalist Alicia Ortega of the network SIN Channel 7 disclosed the results of the nationwide survey by the pollster near midnight Monday, conducted from April 23 to May 1.

Bernardo Vega, represnting Penn Schoen & Berland, said 1,000 eligible voters were polled, with a margin of error of 3.1%.
