U.S. hopes Medina keeps campaign promises, bolsters democracy

Santo Domingo.- Washington expects president Danilo Medina to keep his campaign promises ??to the people and also bolster Dominican Republic’s current democratic system.

U.S. ambassador Raul Yzaguirre, who went to the National Palace as follow up on several programs and actions promoted jointly by Washington and Dominican Republic, said everything looks good thus far and pledged to announce them to the country shortly.

Yzaguirre met with Presidency chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo, and said he’ll meet with Medina soon. "We expect, what all Dominicans expect, that promises made in the campaign are fulfilled and that the democratic process in this country strengthens, that’s healthy and positive."
