Officials shutter illegal businesses in Punta Cana-Bavaro

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.- Tourism Ministry officials in the Bavaro-Punta Cana area began shuttering three water-sport business and several, gift shops, and tours and vacation clubs, operating without a license.

East region deputy tourism minister Rafael Baron Duluc said it’s a first operation conducted jointly with La Altagracia province authorities.

Punta Cana-Bavaro Businesses and services Dept. director Richard Poueriet accompanied Tourism inspectors and Tourism Police (Politur) agents in the inspections prior to the closing of the illegal businesses.

Baron said the operation to regulate the various businesses operating in the Bavaro-Punta Cana region will continue in the coming days.
