Medina gets proposal to reform the Police

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina received Thursday the proposal to reform the Police drafted by a committee headed by presidency chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo.

Interior and Police minister Jose Ramon Fadul handed the document to Medina, and said the proposal will now be evaluated by the president, prior to submitting it to Congress in the next few days.

Though he declined to provide details, Fadul noted the two key aspects. "The police reform is in fact in the practical field, what we do internally, we’re talking about training the police in investigations and prevention and reforming internal administrative procedure."
