Downpours flood Santiago sectors as residents flee the rising waters

Santiago. – The latest downpours have flooded several sectors of Santiago, where dozens of families have fled their homes and the rising waters.

And while some of the residents decided to return to their homes, others are waiting for the authorities to pump out the water from their neighborhoods.

Civil Defense had warned the residents in the communities that the rains will continue, while the director Francisco Arias notes that the flooding occurs every time it rains.

He said first responders are on the alert to deal with emergency cases, but no fatalities or injuries have been reported thus far.
