At military escort’s funeral, Medina calls for a “more aggressive” justice
Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina said to fight insecurity Dominican justice must be "more aggressive," referring to Wednesday’s murder of Army 2nd Lt. Suleyca Ponciano, member of the security detail of one of his daughters.
"It also requires a stronger justice because that guy was in prison and two weeks ago they released him, and see what he does now," Medina told reporters after giving his condolences to the officer’s relatives during funeral services in the sector Ensanche Ozama.
His statement points to the potential identification of one of two men who shot Ponciano, near her home in the early yesterday in the sector El Tamarindo.
The president went tot the funeral home accompanied by his daughters Ana Paula, who had been escorted by the slain officer, and Sibely. Both revealed their consternation.
