Agents seize nearly US$500K, two Colombians charged

Santo Domingo.- The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD)on Tuesday announced the confiscation of nearly US$500,000, presumably from internationaldrug trafficking, during a raid of an apartment of two Colombians in the condo YamibisVIII, of the capital’s El Million sector.

It said the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) collaboratedwith the intelligence gathering operation, and arrested the Colombian and his allegedassociate of the same nationality, both being interrogated at DNCD headquarters.

In a statement, the DNCD said the money seized was in ablack bag in apartment 2-B, located on Teatro Nacional St. of El Millon, where twomoney-counting machines were also confiscate.
