IDAC admitts there was a glitch in Las Americas radar

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) admitted that indeed there was a glitch in the radar system operated by Las Americas Airport, which disrupted service for five minutes and not for over four hours, as on Friday denounced the Dominican Republic Air Traffic Controllers Association (ADCA).

The clarification was made by journalist Hector Olivo, IDAC’s Communications and Public Relations manager, who said the failure occurred on March 5 and noted as suspicious the fact that the air traffic controllers reported the failure nine days later.

Olivo assured that during the five-minute glitch there was no interruption in the airport’s operations nor in the departure and arrival of flights.
