Minority parties get a say on Dominican nationality row

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina visited minority pro-government PRSC party president Federico –Quiqui- Antún Thursday morning, as part of his consultations with political leaders, to seek a consensus leading to drafting a bill on immigration.

Medina arrived with a 3-vehicle motorcade in Antún’s house at 9:20am, making him the fifth political leader he meets with so far this week.

The Head of State first visited former president Leonel Fernández, then Luis Abinader, of the opposition PRD party, and former president Hipolito Mejia on Wednesday, followed with PRD president Miguel Vargas also yesterday.

Local media report that after meeting with Antún, Medina would also visit Marino Vinicio Castillo (Vincho), head of the Government Ethics Commission, and head of the minority pro-government FNP party.
