The Pope, Dominican Republic leader talk immigration, mum on pedophiles

The Vatican.- Pope Francis received Dominican Republic president Danilo Medina in the Vatican in a special audienceFriday morning and spoke for 29 minutes, the Presidency said on Twitter, which placed two photos of the meeting.

Although many sectors in the Dominican Republic had expectations that the two leaders would discuss the pedophilia cases of former Vatican envoy Jozef Wesolowski and priest Wojciech Gil, there was no mention of such dialogue.

The Head of State arrived Thursday at the Vatican from Madrid, to meet with the pontiff, and is accompanied by several senior officials and diplomats.

Medina and his official delegation are scheduled to return Sunday afternoon.
