Dominican Republic prosecutor of major corruption cases resurfaces

Santo Domingo.- After nearly two weeks absence from the public spotlight, National District prosecutor Jenny Berenice Reynoso met Thursday with Airport Security Dept – CESAC- director Aracenis Castillo, to coordinate actions to strengthen the country’s civil aviation.

Reynoso currently handles two of the country’s most astounding cases of widespread government corruption, including the money laundering and embezzlement accusations against former Public Works minister Victor Diaz Rua, and former State-works Supervisory Engineers Office director and current senator Felix Bautista, both close collaborators of former president Leonel Fernandez.

The official also confronts Margarita Cristo Cristo, a National District judges Reynoso accused of taking bribes in drug trafficking cases.
