Santo Domingo.- The Justice Ministry on Wednesday said Marleni Consuelo Almonte Peña is the woman who rented a Hyundai SUV on October 21, one day prior to being used in the attempted jailbreak at Najayo Prison, in San Cristobal (south).

Deputy Justice minister Bolivar Sanchez said Almont’s true identity was determined through her Cedula ID, # 031-0422197-7- and to rent the SUV, presented a forged US passport with the name Rosa Maria Martinez.

Officers raided the family home of the 32-year old native of Santiago, who’s still at large, is reportedly located in the Espaillat sector.

Sanchez identified Almonte’s parents as Antonio Adalberto Almonte and Lilliam Peña, who died just over a year ago, allegedly the last time her paternal relatives had contact with her.
