Italy seizes 122K cocaine on ship from Dominican Republic: EFE

Barcelona.- Italian andSpanish antinarcotics agencies on Thursday seized 122 kilos of cocaine at the Italianport of Vado Ligure on a ship from the Dominican Republic who had a port callat Tarragona, Spain, EFE reports.

Officials said theItalian vessel arrived from the Dominican Republic at the port on August 18 to offloadseveral containers declared mostly as fresh fruit from Colombia, Costa Rica andthe Dominican Republic, adding that later the ship continued on to Civitavecchia,in Italy.

During customsinvestigations in Spain, it emerged that one of the holds could have anundetermined amount of cocaine that could’ve been loaded at the Colombian portof Turbo, hidden with legal freight.
