Santo Domingo.- A National District judge ruled for themaximum pretrial detention of one year against powerful truckers union leaderBlas Peralta and three codefendants, chargedwith gunning down former Sano Domingo State University, UASD, dean Mateo AquinoFebrillet.

Permanent attention judge Jose A. Vargas handed down theruling Wednesday afternoon, remanding to prison Peralta, former police colonelRafael Herrera, and Gerardo Félix Bautista Franklin Alejandro Vargas.

Peralta, head of the country’s powerful truckers unionFENATRADO, is charged in Mateo’s murder, over a dispute on elected posts in SanCristobal province.
