This cannot be! Medina says of west region’s deforestation

Hondo Valle, Dominican Republic.- President Danilo Medina,during a surprise visit to the western region, said it’s still possible to recoverthe forests of Elijah Piña’s mountains.

After overflying the area of Valle Hondo township, Medinamet with farmers, and on the region’s deforestation said, "this cannotbe," expressing concern over the situation.

He announced a Cabinet level commission to come up with areforestation plan within 30 days, and will meet in Hondo Valle, at 10am tolaunch the project.

Medina then visited Sabana Larga, Comendador township to relaunchits agro settlement, where farmers requested repairs on the canal, new pumps, atractor for land tiling and a truck to transport crops.
