COE issues green alert for National District and nine provinces

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) issued a green alert for the National District and nine provinces, due to a tropical wave combined with a trough.

The provinces on green alert are: Hato Mayor, Sánchez Ramirez, Duarte, San Cristóbal, La Vega, San Pedro de Macoris, Monseñor Nouel, Santo Domingo and Monte Plata.

The national weather office (Onamet) on Friday said increasing cloudiness and showers are forecast for Saturday afternoon from a trough located over western part of Cuba.

The COE said the flash flood, swelled rivers and mudslide warnings continue.
