Accounts Chamber repeats warning to scofflaw officials

Santo Domingo.- The Accounts Chamber on Monday repeated itsnow tradition but unneeded warning to government officials who’re required tofile a financial statement, that those who fail to do so before the deadline, incurin "serious misconduct" that could lead even to their dismissal.

During the workshop "Using the National AutomatedSystem and Uniform Financial Statements," Accounts Chamber Evaluation Officedirector Jose Augusto Medina stressed that Civil Service Law 41-08 establishespenalties for misconduct by officials classified as serious.

The workshop was organized by the Institutional OperationalStrengthening Project CCRD-UNDP, with the support of the European Union, from representativesor liaisons from 40 institutions.
