Santo Domingo.- The Immigration Directorate on Wed. said the validity of travel permits for minors will be extended from 30 to 90 days.

The measure will take effect starting Mon., Sept. 24, 2018 and will allow users to obtain their permit in advance and avoid the red tape associated with the upsurge of applicants during holiday periods.

The permit may be obtained, in addition to the main office located in Plaza Malecón Center, in the regional Immigration offices in Santiago, Puerto Plata and Punta Cana. “We clarify that the service isn’t available in the airport terminals, port terminals and border posts.”

Immigration adds that the permits for children to travel abroad must be requested through its website, and once the application is completed, the original file must be submitted at any of its offices.
