‘Planted drugs’ in raid caught on camera: Prosecutor resigns

Santo Domingo.-  Montecristi District prosecutor, Carmen Lisset Núñez, on Tues. resigned as a career prosecutor, while being investigated together with National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) agents who allegedly planted drugs in a Villa Vásquez (northwest) barbershop during a raid caught on camera.

In a press release, the Attorney General’s Office stressed that her resignation paves the way for an eventual criminal proceeding if the evidence merits it.

“If she has criminal responsibility in the facts, it will not be necessary to exhaust all the previous disciplinary process established by law in these cases.”
