Cable car of Santo Domingo will not operate November 2, 3, & 4 for maintenance

The Santo Domingo Cable Car will suspend its activity from November 2 to 4 due to the second phase of the system maintenance work, as announced last March, reported on Sunday the Office for the Reordering of Transportation (Opret).

These maintenance operations are a normal activity for this type of transport whose integrity must be preserved to ensure that it meets all operational guidelines and to ensure the safety of users, Opret said in a statement.

So that users can continue the route during the three days of maintenance, a fleet of OMSA buses will be available, at no additional cost, at the same operating hours of the system between stations T4, T3 of the Cable Car and Rosa Duarte del Metro from Santo Domingo; and between the T2 station of the Cable Car and the Ercilia Pepín of the Santo Domingo Metro.

The boarding on buses will be done using the Metro card, and during this time the ticket offices of the cable car stations will continue to operate for the sale and recharging of cards.

Staff will also be available for assistance and attention at the stations, as well as for the organization in the approach of users, notes the conditions update, where Opret appreciates the understanding of the commuters about the importance and need of maintenance.

Like any transport system, the Santo Domingo Cable Car must carry out regulatory maintenance every year to guarantee the optimum quality and safety conditions for its users.

Last March, the Santo Domingo Cable Car service was suspended between March 16 and 31, as part of the first phase of the regular maintenance activity of this transport system.
