The Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD) and the Central Sugar Consortium (CAC) delivered RD$10 million to landowners in the José Francisco Pea Gómez settlement (El Aguacatico I) on Wednesday. The award ceremony, presided over by the IAD’s general director, Francisco Guillermo Garcia, and the CAC’s administrative manager, José Antonio Garcia, was held in the main hall of the Catholic University of Barahona (UCATEBA).

When intervening in the act, the head of the IAD declared that in a government like President Luis Abinader’s, actions are carried out with the transparency typical of economic delivery to farm plot owners. The CAC representative emphasized the positive relationship between his company, the IAD, and the tenant farmers, who are members of various associations.
