Meteorology reports that it will continue to rain over the Dominican Republic this Friday

Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) has forecasted continued increased cloudiness with showers and thunderstorms over several towns in the Dominican Republic, including Peravia, Barahona, Pedernales, San Cristóbal, and Greater Santo Domingo, from the early hours of Friday.

According to the weather report, the showers will persist throughout the day, moving toward the interior provinces, bringing heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds to the northwest, northeast, and Central Cordillera regions.

During the night, the showers with thunderstorms are expected to return to the Caribbean coast, particularly in Barahona, San Cristóbal, and Greater Santo Domingo.

Onamet also reported an area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms located off the southeastern coast of the United States. This system, associated with a front and low pressure, has a low probability of 10% of becoming a non-tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours. However, it poses no threat to the Dominican Republic due to its current position and trajectory.
