15 provinces under alert due to the passage of storm Bret

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) informed this Friday that 15 provinces are on green alert due to the incidence of tropical storm Bret in the national territory, which will present significant rainfall this weekend.

According to the agency, the provinces on green alert are La Altagracia, San Pedro de Macoris, San Cristobal, Monte Plata, Monseñor Nouel, Peravia, Barahona, La Romana, and San Jose de Ocoa.

Likewise, the Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, La Vega, Sanchez Ramirez, Azua, and Pedernales provinces are also under this alert.

The COE warns that flash or urban flooding may occur in these areas, which could also generate a deterioration of waves along the Caribbean coastline.

RECOMMENDATIONS
The recommendations made by the emergency agency to the general population due to the storm’s passage are to refrain from crossing rivers, streams, and creeks with high volumes of water and not to use bathing resorts, especially in the provinces under alert.

Doubt there was any significant rain from Bret. As of Sunday the 25th, Bret no longer exists.
