Santo Domingo.- The 2024 Latinobarómetro survey ranks the Dominican Republic among the top countries in Latin America for government confidence, economic optimism, progress perception, and support for democracy, reflecting the positive impact of President Luis Abinader’s policies. The study, a key tool for analyzing public opinion in the region, highlights the country’s strong performance in several key indicators. This optimism is driven by policies promoting tourism, foreign investment, and post-pandemic recovery, along with infrastructure projects and job creation programs.

Half of Dominicans (50%) feel the country is progressing, placing it second in Latin America, just behind El Salvador (72%) and well above the regional average of 28%. This perception is fueled by infrastructure improvements, healthcare advancements, and social policies targeting vulnerable populations.
