COE warns of dangerous swells on Dominican coast
Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has issued an alert warning of dangerous swells affecting the Dominican coastline, following a bulletin from the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET). The conditions, caused by abnormal winds and waves, pose risks to navigation and coastal activities.
The COE advised operators of fragile, small, and medium-sized vessels to remain in port, particularly along the Atlantic coast between Cabo Engaño (La Altagracia) and Cabo Cobrón (Samaná). In other areas of the Atlantic coast, authorities recommend sailing with extreme caution, staying nearshore, and avoiding offshore trips.
Both the COE and INDOMET urged the public to remain attentive to official updates and to take precautionary measures to ensure safety amid the deteriorating maritime conditions.
